Mysore/Mysuru: A 14-year-old boy, who was admitted to a private hospital with serious injuries after a tipper ran over his legs in front of the University Guest House at Open Air Theatre Road-Bogadi Road Junction yesterday morning succumbed to injuries at the hospital, K.R. Traffic Police said.

The deceased is Daksha Samarth Nayak, son of Nanjundanayaka and Sujatha couple, residents of Sharadadevi Nagar in city. Sujatha, who works as a teacher was proceeding on her scooter along with her son and when she came out of the main gate of Manasagangothri campus and took a turn towards Bogadi side, a tipper vehicle, which came from Vishwamanava Double Road side hit the scooter from behind resulting in Sujatha and Daksha falling on the road.

While Sujatha escaped with minor injuries, Daksha was run over by the tipper on his thighs and legs. He also sustained head injuries and was profusely bleeding. Though he was rushed to a private hospital, Daksha succumbed to injuries at the hospital, Police said. K.R. Traffic Police have registered a case.
