The 58th anniversary of Tibetan Uprising Day was observed by the Tibetan community people at Dicky Larsoe Community Hall in Bylakuppe on Mar. 10. Lhakpa Tsering and Deleck Jugney, the Settlement Officers read out the statement issued by the Cabinet and the Parliament in Exile of Tibetan Govt., Dharmasala.
The gathering remembered the sacrifice and the braveness of many Tibetans who gave their lives for the cause of Tibet about 57 years ago and also reminded the present generation to carry forward the non-violent struggle of the Tibet people with great determination and courage under the leadership of The Dalai Lama. B.V. Javaregowda, the President of the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society, who was chief guest on the occasion, said that the people of Republic of China must recognise the human rights of Tibetan Community and urged the Chinese authorities to stop damaging the culture, religion of the Tibetan community inside the Tibet and also urged to restore the freedom of Tibetans and allow the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet.
