The annual Theerthodbhava at Talacauvery will be held on Oct. 17 at 1.11 pm as per the Hindu almanac on the Tula Sankramana Day (Makara Lagna).On this day, it is believed that Goddess Cauvery comes in the form of a fountain-head where water gushes up from Brahmakundike at the predetermined time.
On the occasion of Theerthodbhava, rituals such as rice being poured to ‘Pathaya’ (VrishchikaLagna) of Sri BhagandeshwaraSwamy Temple at Bhagamandala were held as per tradition on Sept. 26 at 11.55 am during VrishchikaLagna. On Oct. 4 (10.35 am): ‘AjnaMuhurtha’ will be held at ‘VrishchikaLagna’; Oct.14 (12.05 pm): Placing of ‘Akshaya Patra’ (DhanurLagna); 1.25 pm: Offering boxes will be placed (Makara Lagna).
