Mysuru: A ten-day Craft Exhibition, sponsored by Union Ministry of Textiles, commenced yesterday at JSS Urban Haat in Hebbal Industrial Area here. Over 50 artisans from Karnataka, UP, TN, Delhi, Gujarat, Odisha, AP, Rajasthan and other places have exhibited eye-catching handicrafts at about 50 stalls. On the list are fancy shawls, embroidery dresses, designer jewellery, murals, silk sarees, kolhapur slippers, decorative jugs, furniture, woollen shawls, tribal jewellery, jute items, zardosi works, pearl jewellery, Channapatna toys and many more. Inaugurating the expo, Minister for Sugar and Small Scale Industries Dr. Geetha Mahadevaprasad said that such exhibitions would provide a good platform for artisans.
