Bengaluru: With an objective of putting an end to indiscreet teacher transfers, the State Government will introduce a new transfer policy based on the University Act, which the Government has proposed to introduce soon.

Speaking to presspersons here recently, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan said that the new teacher transfer policy will help in overcoming the shortfall of teachers in rural areas and also scientific redressal of transfer issues. Pointing out that 1,700 lecturers will be appointed for Government First Grade Colleges, he said that there are plans to set up placement cells in Government Colleges on the lines of the one in Engineering Colleges. Stressing on the need for promoting entrepreneurship among the students, he said that the Government will provide mentorship training, financial assistance and other supplemental support to budding entrepreneurs.
