Cricket is a very popular game in our country and many youngsters have taken up cricket as their career. Mysuru also has its share of producing talented cricketers who have gone on to represent the State and the country. Mysuru city’s talented cricketer M. Venkatesh represented Karnataka in the Cooch Behar Trophy Tournament for U-19 and fared well. Against Punjab, Venkatesh came out with an inspiring performance with the ball and took five for 34 in the match played at Shivamogga recently. He has so far taken 27 wickets in the Tournament and has been performing consistently with the ball. He is our 'Star This Week.'
Venkatesh has been rewarded for his consistent performances in the National level in the U-19 one-day limited-over Zonal League 2018-19, and was picked in the India Red U-19 squad for the Challenger Series held in Lucknow during November, 2018.
