Cricket is a very popular game in our country and many youngsters have taken up cricket as their career. Mysuru also has its share of producing talented cricketers who have gone on to represent the State and the country. City’s talented cricketer Kishan S. Bedare has come up with some sterling performance with the willow and the cherry for University of Mysore (UoM) in the South Zone Inter-University Cricket Tournament for Men 2018 conducted by VTU at Mysuru and Shivamogga in which his team finished runners-up. Kishan won 'The Best All-rounder' title in the Tournament with a total of 289 runs in seven matches and also by taking four wickets. He is our Star This Week.
Kishan, a middle -order batsman and a medium-pace bowler was consistent throughout the Tournament. He scored a valuable 61 in the final against Jain University, Bengaluru. In the semi-finals against Hindustani IT & S, Chennai, Kishan scored 29 n.o. In the quarter-finals against MG University, Kottayam, Kishan scored a valuable 52 (47b, 4x4).
