Mysuru: The Swachh Survekshan 2018 cleaning campaign will begin from Jan. 16 at the Balarama Gate of the Mysore Palace at 7.30 am. The ‘Swachata Surakasha’ will go on till Jan.31, said Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep. He was addressing a preliminary meeting here yesterday at his office and said every day NCC cadets from different colleges will be involved in the cleaning campaign. To create awareness about cleanliness a Trin-Trin rally will be conducted that will begin from Ramaswamy Circle, pass through Vidyapeetha Circle, Hardinge Circle and return to Maharaja’s College. Including K.R. Hospital, Kumbarkoppal, Paduvarahalli and several other places will be cleaned. Special stress will be laid on cleaning the Chamundi Hill steps and instructions will be given to the officers to ban the use of plastic in the shops that is still going on, he said. Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, Field Publicity Assistant Director Dr. Poornima, District Urban Development Cell Planning Director Loknath, former MLC D. Madegowda and others were present.
