Mysuru: To regain the ‘Cleanest City’ tag, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) will be conducting ‘Swachh Mysuru’ contests ahead of Swachh Survekshan-2018 scheduled to begin from Jan.4, 2018. The contests will be held in five categories — Cleanest School, Cleanest Hospital, Cleanest Hotel, Cleanest Residential Welfare Association (RWA) / Ward and Cleanest Market Associations. All the Schools (Government and Private), Hospitals, Hotels, RWA and Market Associations, coming under MCC limits, are eligible to take part in the contest. Last date to apply is Nov.30. The contest will be judged between Dec.4 and 8. Results will be announced on Dec.16. A jury team of five members including MCC officials and Non-Government Organisation Members will evaluate the contestants. Toilets: Display boards for public use All the petrol bunks, hotels and malls, coming under MCC limits have been asked to let the toilets for public use and display signboards regarding the same. It has been directed in connection with Swachh Survekshan-2018. The MCC Commissioner has, in a press release, has requested the respective owners to compulsorily display a board stating ‘For Public Use’ (Sarvajanikara Upayogakkagi) and take active part in Swachh Survekshan-2018.
