Mandya: Supporters of Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambarish and Nikhil Kumaraswamy of JD (S) reportedly clashed following the victory of former at Kulagere Gate in Maddur taluk yesterday. One of the supporters of Sumalatha was injured in this incident and he was taken to hospital.
The altercation began when supporters of Sumalatha were celebrating her victory over JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. JD(S) activists Kuldeep, Pramod and Varun allegedly attacked Sumalatha’s supporters Shashidhar and Kumar with beer bottles and knives. Maddur Police have registered against the JD(S) activists.
