Mysore/Mysuru: A student has lost Rs. 2.03 lakh to cyber criminals in city and a case has been registered at Alanahalli Police Station in this regard.

According to the complaint lodged by the 21-year-old student on Feb. 3, he had come across a business proposal advertisement on social media and on contacting the number provided in the advertisement, a person, said to be an online trader got the money transferred from him through UPI transaction and also threatened him (student) to transfer more money.

The student has further stated in the complaint that he had transferred small amount of money multiple times, not only from his bank account but also from his mother’s bank account, all totalling Rs. 2,03,000.

The Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
