Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy has said that the practice of manual scavenging is prohibited and manual scavengers have been rehabilitated. However, the process of issuing title deeds related to sites allotted to such beneficiaries is pending and the officials concerned must identify places to provide due facilities to them.
He was presiding over a meeting of District-level Awareness and Incharge Committee to discuss about prohibition on engaging manual scavengers and their rehabilitation, at his office in Siddarthanagar recently.
