The Velapuri Chess Association, Belur (Hassan), will be conducting the Karnataka State Open Rapid Chess Tournament at Sudhanava Gowda Vokkaligara Kalyana Mantapa, Belur, Hassan, on Aug.11 and 12. A total cash prize fund of Rs.80,000 is in the offing for the winners in Open category. Cash prizes will be given to the winners from 1 to 25th in the Open category. Trophies (first 5 places) will be given to the winners in the U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15 (boys & girls) sections. Three trophies will be given to the best three veteran players.
