Mysore/Mysuru: In a strong bid to promote a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle among the youths, St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysuru, currently celebrating its Oak Jubilee Year (established in 1946) organised an “Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse” at the College premises in Bannimantap recently.

Initiated as an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) activity, the session championed the powerful message: “Say NO to Drugs, Say YES to Life.”

The highlight was an insightful address by the distinguished Resource Person M.L. Siddesh, Sub-Inspector of N.R. Traffic Police Station, Mysuru.

Drawing on his experience in law enforcement and traffic management, Siddesh educated the students on the severe personal, legal and societal consequences of substance abuse, urging them to make responsible choices.

The awareness programme was presided over by Rev. Dr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph, Rector of St. Philomena’s College.

College Principal Dr. Ravi J.D. Saldanha, Vice-Principal (Administration) Ronald Prakash Cutinha, IQAC Coordinator A. Thomas Gunaseelan and IQAC Co-Coordinator Dr. V. Deepa were present on the occasion.

Arshiya Khanum welcomed the gathering while Dr. Sandesh D’ Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
