Nanjangud/Chamarajanagar: Sri Srikanteshwara Temple at Nanjangud has fetched revenue of Rs. 1.58 crore in one month through hundi collections, according to Temple Chief Executive Officer Ravindra.
The temple’s 24 hundis (offering boxes) were opened on Friday in the temple premises and the collections for the last one month were counted. Rs. 1,58,68,243 cash was collected along with 190 gram gold, 3.750 kg silver and nine foreign currencies. Interestingly, 40 demonetised notes of 500 denomination and four notes of 1,000 denomination worth Rs. 24,000 were found.
