Sr. Donata

Sr. Donata (73), of Avila Convent here, passed away yesterday in city. Born on Feb. 6, 1944 at Ernakulam in Kerala, Sr. Donata was the youngest among eight children of Paulose Manapparambil and Marthamma couple. She made her choice to dedicate herself to the Lord at the age of 23 by being a Carmelite Sister of St. Teresa. She made her first profession on Apr. 25, 1969 and the final commitment on Apr. 25, 1976 at Mount Carmel Convent in Bengaluru. Sr. Donata had served in St. Joseph’s Convent, Kalaburagi, St. Paul’s at Davangere, St. John the Baptist at Kumta, Nirmala Convent in Mysuru, St. Joseph’s in Mandya and Carmel Convent in Mandya. She was a member of the community villa of St. Joseph’s at Jettihundi and Christ the King Convent after her retirement and spent 11 years in the Avila community. Funeral was held today at Divya Krupa in Nagunalli near Mysuru.
