Hosts University of Mysore won all their three league matches and with six points from as many games played, clinched the South Zone Inter-University Women’s Kho-Kho Tournament title for the first time, at the University Grounds here yesterday. In their final league match, University of Mysore, well-served by some inspiring play by K.S. Megha (played 3 minutes & scored 3 points), Jayashree (scored 4 points), Sindhu (played 3 minutes) and Veena (played 3 minutes & scored 1 point), scored a 15-4 win over defending champion, University of Calicut and emerged as the Champion team. University of Calicut with 4 points from three games (2 wins & 1 loss) emerged as the runner-up, while Mangalore University with 1 point finished third. University of Kerala secured the fourth place. Both Mangalore University and University of Kerala finished with 1 point each after the league stage when they tied their league match at 12-12, and to decide the third place winner, Mangalore University emerged as the winner in the minimum chase time allotted.
