Following the orders of Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC), Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited has made it compulsory for the new electricity connections (excluding HT lines) to install Smart Meters, effective from July 1. According to a press release from General Manager of IT and MIS, CESC, the consumers have to purchase the Smart Meters as per the rate fixed by CESC at retail outlets and obtain the connection.
