Mysore/Mysuru: Arivu Education and Cultural Trust, Mysuru, Arivu Nature Resource Centre, Lingambudhipalya, is organising a talk and slide show on ‘Birds then and now’ by Dr. S. Subramanya, an eminent ornithologist, popularly known as ‘Subbu’ on Sunday (Mar. 15) at 6 pm. The talk will be held at Arivu School premises in Lingambudhipalya.
Dr. Subramanya will deliver the talk on birds and its habitat that were reported by ‘Bird Man’ Dr. Salim Ali way back in 1939-40 in old Mysore region and the present status of the bird population in the region. Dr. Subramanya is a reputed ornithologist and was trained by Dr. Salim Ali in initial days. He revisited all the birding spots after 78 years where Dr. Salim Ali travelled for survey and will be taking the audience in his sojourn to enlighten us on birds and its habitats.
