Chennai: The Income Tax officials conducted raids on offices of Jaya TV, controlled by the family members of jailed AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala in Chennai and nine more firms at various places in Tamil Nadu and across the country. Sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran said the Centre is day dreaming if it believes that it can cause his faction any harm by conducting raids.
The income tax department raided the premises of Jaya TV and Dr. Namadhu MGR, a Tamil newspaper. AIADMK Karnataka in-charge E. Pugazhendi is also under I-T scanner. The raids were conducted after reports of alleged tax evasion by the channel and the newspaper.
