Bengaluru: In a major breakthrough, the Kalasipalya Police have arrested six Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) activists for plotting to kill RSS members. The arrested persons had attacked Varun Bhopala - 34, a resident of Sarakki in J.P. Nagar, while he was on his way to his father’s shop near JC Road after attending a pro-CAA event organised by the RSS and other pro-Hindu organisations. The attack happened on Dec. 22, 2019.
Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao said the arrested are 33-year-old Irfan alias Mohammed Irfan, 46-year-old Syed Akbar alias Mechanic Akbar, 30-year-old Syed Siddiq Akbar, 27-year-old Akbar Basha, 28-year-old Sanaulla Sharif and 39-year-old Sadiq UL Ameen, all residents of K.G. Halli.
