Bengaluru: While Congress-JD(S) leaders in Mysuru put up a united face on Sunday as a show of strength, former Chief Minister and CLP leader Siddharamaiah’s meeting with dissident Congress leaders from Mandya at the State capital yesterday failed to end the deadlock.
With several Congress leaders from Mandya refusing to campaign for coalition candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of CM H.D. Kumaraswamy, Siddharamaiah had convened a meeting of Mandya Congress leaders on Sunday, in a bid to resolve the row. But the meeting was inconclusive with several Congress leaders not agreeing to campaign for JD(S) candidate Nikhil, who is contesting as the coalition candidate.
