Short Story and Poetry Writing

Samatha Adhyayana Kendra, Mysuru, has organised a State-level Short Story and Poetry Writing Contest in memory of its Founder-President, late writer Dr. Vijaya Dabbe for which it has invited entries from women writers and young poets. The short stories must not exceed 2,000 words and must be clearly written or typed on one side of the page. The short story writing contest is open only for young women writers in the age group of 20 to 40 years and poetry writing contest is open for students and youths in the age group of 20 to 35 years. There will be three prizes in each category — 1st prize - Rs. 5,000, 2nd - Rs. 3,000 and 3rd - Rs. 2,000. Selected writers and poets will be invited to take part in a Literary Workshop to take place in the last week of May.
