Davanagere: In a bizarre incident, a seven-year-old girl from Harihar in the district reportedly died after setting herself ablaze while attempting to imitate a TV serial character recently, according to reports. Prarthana (7), a second standard student and daughter of Manjunath and Chaitra couple of Harihar, is the deceased. Prarthana is said to have set herself ablaze on Nov.11 after watching a Kannada serial broadcast in a TV channel in which a character performs fire dance. Prarthana, who sustained severe burn injuries, was admitted to a Harihar hospital, where she succumbed on Nov.26, it is learnt.
