Bengaluru: In a holiday bonanza for Government employees, the State Government on Tuesday cancelled second Saturday holiday on Oct.13 and shifted it to Oct.20, thus giving the employees a four-day holiday streak from Oct.18 to 21. The Government made a temporary shift from the provisions of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 to effect the change in second Saturday holiday. The holiday series starts with Ayudha Puja on Oct.18, Vijayadashami on Oct.19, shifted holiday on Oct.20 and regular Sunday holiday on Oct.21. With Tuesday’s Government announcement, all Government offices will be closed from Oct.18 to 21 in a four-day holiday streak.
