Mysuru: The annual Sarasa Translation Workshop was held at Dhvanyaloka, in collaboration with Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, on Nov. 10 and 11. Prof. Srinath, who is the Editor of Sarasa, underlined the unique role played by a translator in not only winning attention to the original work but also in trying to achieve a kind of oneness with it and resolve all duality in the process. The translated text, though different from the original was itself a original work, he opined.

Tariq Khan, Project Co-ordinator of Translation from CIIL, observed that the present workshop was different from others in the sense that while most others were not ‘sustainable’, this was “a genuine process” as it involved a small, but highly committed group, “committed to a cause.”
