Runners-up in National Tennis Championship

R.N. Ramesh, an employee of CSIR- CFTRI, participated in All India Senior Tennis Championship in 45+ doubles  category at Narasapur (AP) recently. Ramesh, along with S. Subramanyam of Namakkal (TN), exhibited a wonderful game of play defeating former national champion  Manoj Kumar of Coimbatore (TN) and his partner  MLVN Raju of (AP) by 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 in the quarter finals. The same pair defeated Armugam of Bengaluru (Kar) and Dhaveji of Narasapur (AP) by 6-1,4-6, 10-7 in the semifinals. However, the pair became the runners-up in the Championship after losing the finals in a thrilling match against K.G. Ramesh (TN) and Jayanth Pawar (Pune) by 2-6. 5-7.
