Mysuru: The Transport Department, in the wake of an accident in Nanjangud in which 12 students sustained injuries and the van driver died on the spot recently, will commence checking of vehicles of private educational institutions for fitness from tomorrow.
It may be recalled that the RTO had conducted an awareness programme for private school vehicle drivers, vehicle attenders and institution management on June 14 at Maharaja’s College Grounds and had given 15 days time for them to rectify the problems in their vehicles. As the deadline ends today, the specially formed RTO Squad will commence the checking district-wide from tomorrow.
