Mysore/Mysuru: A silk saree worth Rs. 72,633 has been stolen from the KSIC Mysore Silk Showroom at Mayura Yatri Nivas on JLB Road in city, according to the complaint lodged by Showroom Supervisor D. Jogaiah at Devaraja Police Station.

In his complaint, Jogaiah has stated that the showroom opened at about 10 am on May 5 during which there were 36 Mysore Silk sarees in the showroom. At about 2.15 pm, the Supervisor brought 72 Mysore Silk sarees from the factory, entered the same in the stock register and kept them for sale.

In all, a total of 108 Mysore Silk sarees were kept on sale on May 5 and a total of 51 sarees were sold that day. When the stock of sarees was taken at about 6.30 pm, there were 56 sarees instead of 57 and one saree priced at Rs. 72,633 was missing, following which the entire showroom was searched to trace the missing saree. Even the employees were questioned but the saree was not found. Though there is a CCTV camera in the showroom, it has become defunct.

Following the theft, Supervisor Jogaiah approached Devaraja Police Station and lodged a complaint in this regard.
