Mysore/Mysuru: Despite intense competition, Mysore Silk sarees continue to be the pick of many women folk, especially during festive seasons and other auspicious occasions.
Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) Limited that has 14 showrooms including 13 in the State and one in Hyderabad in Telangana State, sold the eponymous Mysore Silk sarees worth total Rs. 2.5 crore in a day on Saturday (Nov. 11), the eve of Deepavali festival that began with Naraka Chaturdashi. With KSIC offering discount during festive season and many weddings and other auspicious ceremonies organised during Karthika Masa, the demand for Mysore Silk saree has gone up.
