Mysuru/Mysore: As one of the major programmes, Rotary International promotes ‘Nation - Building’ sentiments in young minds through formation of Interact Clubs in Schools. On Jan.13, Rotary Ivory City Mysuru installed an Interact Club at Madapura Government Higher Secondary School, H.D. Kote, at a programme organised by Acting Head Mistress Nethravathi. The installation ceremony was presided over by Club President Rtn. S. Balachander.
Past President Rtn. V.N. Prasad installed Ravikumar as Interact Club President for 2020-21 and Manasa as Secretary of the newly-installed Club. Speaking on the occasion, Prasad emphasised the importance of instilling leadership qualities in the young minds of today to build a strong nation. He recalled the sacrifices of great personalities like Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, Rashtrakavi Kuvempu, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and many such who were all educated in Government Schools but turned luminaries for the country.
