Nearly four months after being seriously injured in a road mishap, a motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Gurumallappa (56), a resident of Doora Village in Jayapura Hobli of the taluk. Gurumallappa was travelling on his motorcycle (KA-09/HB3685) on Mysuru-Hunsur road on Oct. 25, 2016 to distribute house warming invitation cards, when a speeding Maruti Swift Dezire car (GA-08/E5618) coming from Mysuru side knocked him down at Ankanahalli Gate near Bilikere. Gurumallappa, who sustained grievous head and body injuries in the mishap, was rushed to JSS Hospital in city from where he was reportedly discharged on Dec.23. But his condition worsened and he succumbed to his injuries at his residence in Doora yesterday. His body was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem following which it was handed over to relatives. Bilikere Police have registered a case in this regard.
