Thanmaya Bekkalale is an IT professional and manages his own start-up, School of Fish Technologies in Bengaluru. He is also the Founder Trustee & Secretary, Iksha Foundation, a NGO whose primary goal is to support treatment of children with Retinoblastoma and to spread the awareness about Retinoblastoma. An avid cyclist, Thanmaya manages to juggle his time between his profession, Iksha activities and cycling. Thanmaya has not only pedalled the TfN twice but has also turned up as volunteer on two tours. In the 11th edition of TfN 2018, Thanmaya is pedalling as charity rider for Iksha Foundation and is targeting to raise a corpus of Rs.10 lakh which will aid the treatment of 6 to 7 children with Retinoblastoma. Speaking to SOM, Thanmaya opines that “When you ride for a purpose, the pain and sweat is more meaningful knowing that you are riding for a greater good."
