Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) leaders will meet in Bengaluru on Dec.12 (Tuesday) to discuss various issues plaguing the agrarian sector. Announcing this at a press meet here on Friday, KRRS leader and MLA K.S. Puttannaiah said the meeting has been arranged to press the government for redressing farmers’ grievances, especially in the Cauvery basin. Demanding implementation of Swaminathan report, Puttannaiah urged the government to advance package loans to farmers at least to ensure their livelihood. Continuing, he said that writer Devanur Mahadeva and top farmer leaders will take part in the meeting. Continuing, he said Swaraj India will hold a meeting at Bengaluru on Dec.16 to discuss an alternative political front in the State. The meeting will discuss fielding a formidable candidate in at least one constituency in every district, he said. Announcing that there were plans to change the name of KRRS and its logo, he said that an official decision in this regard will be announced in January. He also lashed out at former KRRS leader K.S. Nanjundegowda for joining BJP as he was unsure of getting JD(S) ticket from Srirangapatna. Farmer leaders Badagalapura Nagendra, Hosur Kumar, Hoskote Basavaraj, Alagudu Shivakumar and others were present at the press meet.
