The Railway Pensioners Welfare Association has organised the Pensioners Day on Tuesday (Dec. 17) at SC/ST Association on Seshadri lyer Road. The monthly meeting of the Association will not be held on Dec.14. It is on 17th December in 1982 that the Supreme Court gave a historical judgement that pension is a right, not a bounty and a minimum of 50 percent of pay should be given as pension. Parthasarathy, Association Vice-President and C.G. Krishna, General Secretary will speak on the occasion. G. Arumugam, Association President, will preside. All the pensioners are requested to attend the programme, according to a press release.
