Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Divisional State, Central, Semi-Government and Aided Institutions’ SC/ST Officers and Employees Parishat has appealed the Government to intervene and end the strike that began last month at city’s KSGH Music and Performing Arts University, after non-teaching contract staff of the Varsity were relieved from work.
In a memorandum submitted to Mysuru Deputy Commissioner, a copy of which was also submitted to the Registrar of Music University, the Parishat said that 21 non-teaching staff were serving the University since its establishment and their services were renewed every six months. But the University authorities, all of a sudden, relieved these staff of duties last month, much to their shock. After being thrown out of jobs, these families are facing a lot of hardship. As such, the Government should immediately intervene to resolve the issue by reinstating the sacked employees and thus render justice to them, the memorandum said.
