Mysore/Mysuru: City-based art critic, musician and writer Dr. Manik Bengeri's book titled 'Sangeet-Naatya-Panchayatan' was released by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra Chairman Prof. A.V. Narasimha Murthy at a simple function held here yesterday.
The book is based on the theme of Indian Music, Tansen's contribution, Bharatnatyashstra, Theatre movement in India, Western influence, starting from Bengal Theatre, Hindi Theatre, Gujarati Theatre, Marathi Theatre, Kannada Theatre, Telugu and Tamil Theatre in general and Marathi theatre-music-drama era - glory provided by Padma Bhushan Balgandharv of Maharashtra and its impact on Karnataka theatre in particular.
