The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) is all set to charge the 66/11 KV High-Tension power station newly set up at Mandakalli (Koppalur) in the taluk on Feb.10 or on a later date. As such, the KPTCL has warned the public against tying of cattle to power line towers, removal of metal strips from towers, climbing towers and touching overhead power lines, growing plants and trees under power lines, flying of kites in the vicinity of towers and such other acts are prohibited. The KPTCL cannot be held responsible for any accidents causing injuries or deaths to individuals or cattle, if people resort to such acts despite warnings, according to a press release.
