Out of the 17 people killed in the Kichguth Maramma Prasadam Poisoning at Sulwadi in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district, nine belong to SC communities and compensation will have to be paid according to Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and a memorandum has already been submitted.
