In view of the anticipated heavy rush of passengers this festival season, South Western Railway (SWR), with a view to regulate crowd on platforms, has decided to increase the platform ticket fare to Rs.20 (from the existing Rs.10) from Oct.15 to Oct.21. This temporary measure is taken as a public safety precaution so that bona fide passengers are not inconvenienced due to the presence of a large number of persons on platforms in this period.
