Chamarajanagar: Consequent to lifting of lockdown, all places of worships and tourist destinations were opened for the general public in district on Monday. They had remained closed since April 22, this year when the district witnessed the outbreak of Coronavirus. However, the number of positive cases has decreased in the district enabling resumption of business.

Temple of Madappa atop Sri Male Mahadeshwaraswamy Hill in Hanur taluk, Himavad Gopalaswamy Temple in Gundlupet taluk, Sri Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Yelandur taluk, Sri Chamarajeshwaraswamy Temple in Chamarajanagar city and other temples allowed devotees to offer prayer. The tourist spots like Hogenakkal Falls, Barachukki Falls and Bandipur Tiger Reserve were also opened for the general public.
