Mysore/Mysuru: Sujana Charitable Trust from Holenarasipura Hassan district had organised Physics and Chemistry workshops at 12 Government schools in Mysuru that have little or no laboratory facilities.
The Trust was requested by Mysuru North Block Education Officer D. Udayakumar to conduct free workshops to prepare the SSLC students for the forthcoming examinations and also develop a scientific spirit among children. The workshop series was held on Feb.27 as part of National Science Day. National Science Day is being celebrated in India on Feb.28 since 1986 to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect. Sir C.V. Raman had discovered a phenomenon in Spectroscopy in 1928 for which he was awarded the first Nobel Prize for India in the field of science.
