M.T. Shruthi Ranjani has been awarded Ph.D in Faculty of Arts - Performing Arts by the Bangalore University, Bengaluru, for her thesis ‘An analytical Study of Raaga System in Indian Classical Music and Scale System in Western Classical Music’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. K. Ramakrishnaiah. She is the daughter of violinist Vid. H.S. Thandavamurthy.
