Mysuru, June 27 (BCT)- People For Animals (PFA), Mysuru, in collaboration with the World Veterinary Service (WVS), Ooty, conducted a two-day equine health and vaccination camp for working horses in Mysuru city and Srirangapatna on June 24 and 25.

The camp was led by PFA Veterinary Officer Dr. Kiran, assisted by clinical staff Ratan and Mahendra, along with a WVS team headed by Dr. Sumanth.

On the first day, veterinary teams treated sick horses in Mysuru city, administered Tetanus Toxoid (TT) vaccinations, carried out deworming and distributed mineral and vitamin supplements to improve the animals’ immunity and nutritional status.

The second day’s camp in Srirangapatna focused on treating horses suffering from abscesses and maggot-infested wounds. The team also continued TT vaccination, deworming and nutritional supplementation for the animals.

According to PFA, the initiative aimed at preventing tetanus, reducing parasitic infections and improving the overall health and welfare of working horses in the region.

The organisation said the collaborative effort helped enhance the body condition and well-being of the equines through timely treatment and preventive veterinary care.
