Mysuru: Today being Akshaya Tritiya, an auspicious day to buy gold, there was a huge concern among city jewellers as they were worried that customers might not turn up as high-value purchases will be monitored by the Election Commission. However, despite apprehension, jewellers have managed to make a decent business as customers thronged shops soon after breakfast.
Some of the jewellery shops such as Tholasi Jewels, Malabar Gold, Jos Alukkas, Joy Alukkas, Kalyan Jewellers, Prakash Jewellers, Bhima Jewellers, A. Shankara Chetty & Sons, Lalitha Jewellery, Sharada Jewellery, Neelkanth Jewellers, Bhima & Brothers, Tanishq and many other jewellery stores on Ashoka Road, K.R. Circle, D.D. Urs Road, Bengaluru-Mysuru Road, were filled with buyers.
