In some relief for persons with over 75 percent mental disorder, the State Government has hiked the monthly pension for them to Rs. 2,000 (earlier Rs.1,400). Following an announcement in the State Budget (2021-22), Revenue Department Deputy Secretary Vijayalakshmi issued an order on Tuesday, according to which the hiked pension will come into effect from Dec.1, 2021. This apart, the Government has also released Rs. 24 crore grant for pensions under different social security schemes.
