Udupi: Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji, who is also heading the Udupi Paryaya Peeta, underwent hernia operation successfully at KMC Hospital yesterday. Swamiji was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. All daily rituals of the Mutt are handed over to junior Seer of Pejawar Mutt. Medical experts from KMC had been checking 86-year-old Seer’s health for the last few weeks at the Mutt. Though Swamiji didn’t want to undergo the procedure till the next Paryaya, he was taken to the hospital after the Seers of other Udupi Mutts requested Swamiji to undergo treatment.
According to the Mutt sources, Swamiji had been responding to the treatment and was expected to be discharged in a day or two.
