Mysuru: Materials worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in a fire at a paint shop in J.P. Nagar here yesterday night.
The public, who noticed the fire and thick smoke emanating from the paint shop belonging to Shivanand at about 10 pm, immediately informed Saraswathipuram Fire Brigade Station. Fire personnel, who rushed to the spot with two fire extinguishing vehicles, took two hours to douse the fire. But the fire had already destroyed the materials stored in the shop. The cause for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
