Mysuru: “There is very good response. Mysore Airport is really buzzing with activity. It is not like the airport of the past. All the hard work of the last one week, as all my staff worked day and night, seems to have paid off. The TruJet flights are almost full on all the three days so far,” said an exultant Mysore Airport Director Manoj Kumar Singh, speaking to Star of Mysore, this morning.
Both the incoming and outgoing flights that TruJet is flying from Mysore Airport are carrying almost 52 passengers daily. Today the incoming flight booked is 55 and outgoing is 49 seats. Tomorrow, the incoming is 49 and outgoing is 57 seats. “Every day till Dasara is over 30 to 35 bookings have already been confirmed. Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), the airline has to offer 50 per cent of the seats at subsidised rates, capped at Rs. 2,500 per seat, as this is the tripartite agreement between Ministry of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India and Karnataka Government. If the fare of the seats is more than Rs 2,500 it means 36 seats have been booked,” said Singh.
