organ donation campaign launch

Mysuru: Rotary Ivory City Mysuru in association with JSS Medical College, Mysuru,  has launched the project of spreading awareness about “Body and Organ Donation to Medical Colleges.” The project was launched on the occasion of the Installation Ceremony of the new office-bearers of the Club for the year 2018-19 under the Presidentship of Rtn. M. Perumal. The project has been taken up under the guidance Dr. N. M. Shama Sundar, Professor of Anatomy, JSS Medical College. The noble gesture of donating body immediately after the death helps immensely in educating students of medical profession far more effectively than what they learn through books and other media, said Prof. Shama Sundar. The Club felicitated S.C. Ramdev, his wife Viju Ramdev, son Rohit Ramdev and daughter-in-law Rekha Rohit for their decision to donate their bodies for medical research. A pamphlet was also released by the Club to create awareness among public about the myths and facts about body donation. For details, the general public may contact Dr.  Shama Sundar  on Mob: 98452-06284 or 99005-68339.
